I highly do not recommend this review book. I'm in Ap Hug right now and looking through this book I found a lot of basic mistakes (ex. The definition of agricultural density is wrong). I recommend buying the REA or Kaplan books instead since with this book you will likely be studying the wrong facts.
The following written by my 15 year old freshman son: This textbook was an excellent buy. It includes all major aspects and units of human geography. It is a really good refresher, includes practice exams, writings, and questions. Everything was explained with in depth, and the practice was almost like the test. The book was easy to read and was involved in every step of solving a question, and went over everything in great depth. I bought the book about a month and a half before the test and used it as a review/refresher. You must commit.All in all 5/5.
It helped prepare for the exam, but I preferred the Barron’s book version to be honest because that one was more concise. Princeton Review had a lot of excellent examples but also many unnecessary ones. I ended up using Barron’s about 70% of the time and this one about 30%. If you need to cram last minute, get Barron’s not this. If you’re looking for a book to help throughout the school year with good in-depth explanations, diagrams, and current examples, buy Princeton Review’s book. I’m confident I’ll score a 5 when scores come out in a few weeks, but we’ll see.
I bought the 2018 version for my sister and last year I got the 2017 I have yet to find any differences as in the content. I’m pretty sure they are exactly the same minus the different cover. This is a very good review book. Using this I was able to get a 5 on my first AP exam, being this book.
I absolutely loved this book! It was clear and concise. I used this book to study a week or so before the exam and I got a 5! You must have a lot of dedication and patience however. It was fairly long but contained all the materials that are necessary for your success on the test. Plus, I recognized that some of the questions in the book appeared on the test in a different wording. Great book. You should definitely get this if you are taking the AP Human Geography course!
